Library News and Programs

Check out our regularly scheduled Monthly programs for all Ages. These are held at the Galway Public Library, 2112 East Street, Galway, NY. USA. Call to register (518) 882-6385.


Holiday Art Exhibit Programs

From September through November we will be hosting various Holiday Themed Art Programs. All art created during these programs will be displayed during the month of December as our Artists of the Month. After December the artist may take their works of art home. Registration will be required, 518-882-6385, as there may be a limit per program, so signup soon. Below are the first two programs. Check the Schedule for details of all of the upcoming art programs.

New Jigsaw, Mindbender & Dingbat Puzzles and Family Activities available.

NEW!

We now have “Theme Kits” that patrons can check out. They contain related materials to the subject, such as books, DVDs, coloring pages, and a specific activity that can be done. All materials are included.

Our first is on Astronomy. Come check it out and create your own models of constellations.


September’s Artist of the month!

Meet Amy David, a local artist whose media is cut-outs and silouettes. Come see her wonderful unique art. Amy’s works will be on display in the lobby and in the large program room from September 3rd – 30th .

Galway Public Library is selling their trailer!

Used as a float in the Memorial Day parade in the past.


Gaming Club – E-Sports

Congratulations to Avery, our September tournament winner! Avery is also our leader going into the Grand Finals. Next event is October 12th @ 11:00-2:00 and the feature game is Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

E-Sports meets the 2nd Saturday of each month. Come join us for fun, friendship, gaming, prizes and snacks and watch the Grand Finals.

Photography ClubOctober Photo Challenge: The Colors of Autumn.

Our next meeting will be on October 30th, 6 p.m. Linda Eastman will talk about “Pet Photography”.

Children Books Wish List

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a new children’s book for the Galway Public Library!  Here are Books that we are hoping to acquire for our collection and these will be continuously updated.  Please let us know the title of any book(s) that you intend to purchase, and we will remove them from our list to avoid duplicates.  You may email Julie Pasieka or call 518-882-6385 to let her know the title.  Please drop books off at the library and let us know that they came from the Wish List.  You can also request that we add a bookplate to the book to recognize your donation.  Your support is greatly appreciated!

TEEN ADVISORY BOARD: The Galway Public Library is currently enrolling teens in the Teen Advisory Board.


Our Deconstruction Program is looking for material donations, such as non-gas powered tools, small appliances, electronics, remote control vehicles, etc. for our kids to take apart and learn how these are made. If you have any questions please contact the library (518) 882-6385.

  • Monitors
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Any gas-powered items
